Music connects, inspires, and nurtures talent—which is precisely why we at new direction GmbH are committed to supporting young people on their journey. When the Neusäß Singing and Music School approached us, they had a project close to their hearts: the purchase of a new concert grand piano for the House of Music. An instrument that is not only important for concerts, but above all for the education of over 900 students in and around Neusäß.

Why we are involved

The music school was looking for voluntary sponsors to offer students the best possible platform for their musical development. After a personal exchange with music school director Sandro Roy, it quickly became clear that this project fits in with our philosophy. For us, sustainable support means not only technological innovation, but also supporting education, culture, and community.

From idea to support

After initial discussions, our decision was made—new direction GmbH would contribute to the purchase of the new grand piano. The donation went toward financing the new instrument, which has since become a central place for learning, enthusiasm, and making music together.

In return, our commitment to the music school is visible: with a mention in the House of Music and in the regional media. But what is much more important to us is the joy of seeing the grand piano being used by young musicians every day – transforming our support into sound.

Promoting music means promoting the future

For us at new direction, supporting the Neusäß Music School is an example of how social commitment and regional responsibility go hand in hand. The enthusiasm of the students, who are already using the new Yamaha grand piano in lessons and performances, shows that every bit of support can make a difference.

A shared sound for the region

We would like to express our sincere thanks to the Neusäß Music School, especially Sandro Roy and his team, for their warm cooperation. The new grand piano will be officially inaugurated on February 6, 2026, during a sponsor concert – together with all supporters, parents, students, and Mayor Richard Greiner.

The therapeutic community Eser 21 was founded by Friedegard and Gerd Warkentin. The Warkentins have dedicated a considerable part of their lives to building Eser 21. Against all odds, full of trust, faith, love and hope. Their perseverance and deep faith were rewarded.

About the Eserlauf

The Eserlauf followed by the Eserfest is the annual highlight of the Eser season. Every year, up to 100 runners run their laps in the green spaces at the Rote Tor in Augsburg to raise money for the Eser and then fortify themselves with barbecued food, salads and drinks at the Eserfest.

The course is approximately 700 meters long. Each runner has the task of finding sponsors who will pay a fixed amount for each lap completed, which will then benefit the work of Eser 21. The Diakonieverein Eserwall e.V. was founded in 1992 as the sponsor of the therapeutic facility "Am Eser 21". We at new direction GmbH are delighted to have been awarded the Innovative through Research seal of approval. This award is presented every two years by the Stifterverband to companies that have established research and innovation as an important part of their corporate policy.

With this seal, the Stifterverband wishes to recognize research-based companies for the special responsibility they assume for the state and society. As one of the largest private sponsors of science in Germany, the association's task is to examine and evaluate the German research and innovation system.

Innovative through research 2022/2023

The seal was awarded for the first time in 2014 and is valid for two years. Since then, the Stifterverband has been commissioned by the Federal Ministry of Education and Research to find out how much the economy is investing in research and development in Germany and what impact this has on our future viability.

In order to better illustrate the principle, we would like to use the example of a customer to show how much benefit process optimization with the help of software has brought him.

At a German car manufacturer, it was necessary to summarize information from various areas during the documentation phase of EMC measurements of vehicle control units. However, the lack of interfaces between the existing tools meant that the information had to be laboriously compiled into a report by hand. At least two employees also had to supervise the measurement without interruption in order to keep measurement errors to a minimum.

We initially supported the internal EMC department in creating a solution concept. We then implemented the software solution and put it into operation in collaboration with the internal EMC department and the system partners.

Subsequently, new direction carried out the user training. Since then, we have also been responsible for maintaining and expanding the solution.

The aim of the collaboration was to optimize the measurement results and minimize resources. Was this successful in the end?

The results are impressive: Since its introduction, the software solution has ensured automated, seamless monitoring of all systems. All relevant events are automatically logged in real time.

Thanks to its system independence, the solution can also be used on a laptop and, depending on the connected system, can also be used purely for fault memory analysis or visualization.

The software solution has also considerably reduced the workload of the measuring personnel. The informative value of the log benefits from greater accuracy.

Digitize - but how?

A survey conducted as part of the IW Future Panel revealed that two thirds of German companies consider digitalization to be of very high strategic importance over the next five years. At the same time, however, we also know that most companies are only just beginning to digitize their products, processes and business models.

The digitalization of the economy is a task that not only requires a high level of expertise, but also investment. Many companies are also confronted with other obstacles of a legal, technical and economic nature:

  • gray areas under data protection law 
  • Lack of legally compliant anonymization of personal data

The Fair Company Initiative was founded in 2004 by the Handelsblatt newspaper and creates transparency and guidance when choosing an employer. Around 500 companies of all sizes, sectors and regions are entitled to bear the Fair Company seal.

For the award, various areas such as work organization & leadership, remuneration & development opportunities as well as corporate culture & values are examined in detail.
